The surname Ingimundson is about as uncommon an Icelandic name as my job description is in LSSD… ICT Resource Teacher! My primary tasks at East Selkirk Middle School are to:
  1. support and promote Literacy with ICT
  2. facilitate and plan technology with administration & staff
  3. liaison with my colleagues by providing frequent support in the areas of instruction, resources, and planning
  4. develop enrichment opportunities for students

Working with our teachers is exciting and the teamwork is very satisfying. In these increasingly technical and fast-paced times, the more familiar we are with the tools and limitless opportunities of technology the better equipped we will be for supporting our students, each other, and our community.

It is apparent that today's educator faces an ever-increasing swell of pressure beyond their day-to-day curricular pursuits with things such as: assessment, social issues, inclusion, technology, cross-curricular connections, differentiated instruction, cultural perspectives, etc... And, though these are essential elements of quality instruction, they must be congruous with our goals and must not be 'extras'. These facets of teaching and learning have to be infused in our day-to-day activities, and if they are not, we undermine our ability to set and meet reasonable and attainable goals.
